Dr Claire Weekes - Pacific Recordings
  Helping you to help yourself....

Audio

Dr Weekes has recorded a series of three talks on audio cassettes or CDs for sufferers with nervous problems also available from Pacific Recordings to the United Kingdom and Europe only.   This very portable form of help can be used in the home, in a car audio system, or outside in a personal stereo. She speaks in her own unique style directly to the sufferer.   They cost £9 each cassette or £11 each CD, which includes first class postage and packing to addresses in the UK.   For addresses in the Irish Republic and Europe the cost is £9.50 each cassette or £12 each CD in Sterling only which includes Airmail postage and packing.  For areas outside Europe please contact Claire Weekes Publications in Australia.

The titles are:

MOVING TO FREEDOM - GOING ON HOLIDAY

Help with agoraphobia and panic attacks

The programme begins with help to get you moving and stay moving once you are out, and how to cope with panic attacks.  It is helpful to play it before you go out so that Dr Weekes can walk beside you on your imaginary journey before going out (perhaps with a personal stereo) and putting into practice what she says on a real one.   The sound advice on coping with panic attacks is useful whether you are agoraphobic or not.   The second section deals with getting yourself off on holiday, staying there and not coming home in a panic, so that you spoil it for yourself and everyone else, which leads to more problems later on.   Doing things Dr Weekes' way you might even find you enjoy your holiday.

GOOD NIGHT - GOOD MORNING

Preparing to rest and sleep and rising and facing the day

In this programme Dr Weekes talks you into a state of relaxation with a few tips for resting comfortably and peacefully and hopefully getting off to sleep.   It is very calming.   The two GOOD MORNING talks are invaluable when you are “all churned up” - that dreaded morning feeling - and can't get out of bed in a morning.   It helps you to get going and hopefully have a better day.

NERVOUS FATIGUE

Understanding and coping with nervous exhaustion

Dr Weekes, whose treatment is based on understanding, explains what nervous fatigue is and how to cope with it and all the strange and frightening symptoms, both physical and emotional, that it brings in its wake.    She also deals with depression - or as she prefers to call it in this context -  depletion.   It is as if the sufferer has been thrashing the panic button and flooding the engine with adrenaline for some considerable time and the battery is flat. Dr Weekes explains how the battery can be recharged.

NB:   Dr Weekes' double audio cassette HOPE AND HELP FOR YOUR NERVES has now been taken over by Thorsons the publishers, re-issued as a single tape, and marketed as a talking  book.   Pacific Recordings does not supply this tape but it is available in bookshops or from Thorsons mail order Tel: 0870 900 2050.
